Starting a Start-Up: Managing Motivation

This post has been updated at 16/08/2011.

Motivation is a critical factor of success of any start-up. Fortunately managing it is not that hard: I use what I call a motivation sheet to keep my motivation high.

Obviously motivation is critical for anything, but I'd say it's critical especially for start-ups. There's always a lot of work on start-ups, you usually do it in your spare time (competes with your other hobbies and family) or instead of your job (competes with anything profitable).

I believe it's necessary to somehow manage your motivation instead of just leaving it to work somehow. I use what I call a motivation sheet.

Motivation sheet is a list of paper where you write down why are you doing whatever are you doing and what advantages do it bring into your life.

Now the only thing you have to do: put it onto your mirror, fridge or anywhere where you can see it and when you feel you're stuck, just read it.
